Our Fundamental of Barista Craft course is designed for aspiring baristas, coffee enthusiasts, café owners, and hospitality professionals. This comprehensive 2-day program combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice, providing participants with the essential skills to master the art of coffee making.

Course Overview: 

Participants will learn how to prepare high-quality espresso-based beverages, including mastering the espresso extraction process, milk texturing for latte art, and customer service in a café setting. The program also emphasises maintaining a clean workspace and understanding the impact of water quality on coffee flavour.

  • Espresso Mastery: Learn grinder calibration, dosing, tamping, and troubleshooting extraction issues.
  • Milk Texturing & Latte Art: Master steaming milk to create perfect microfoam and start creating beautiful latte art. 
  • Coffee Knowledge: Understand the differences between Arabica and Robusta, the impact of roast degrees on flavour, and the importance of freshness. 
  • Menu Creation: Learn the components and proportions for making popular espresso-based drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, and more. 
  • Customer Service Excellence: Enhance your customer service skills and improve café operations with hands-on role-playing exercises. 
  • Barista Skills & Workspace Management: Discover how to set up and maintain a clean, efficient barista station for optimal performance.

Day 1: 

  • Introduction & Coffee Beans: Learn about Arabica vs. Robusta and the significance of roast levels. 
  • Espresso Process: Understand espresso recipes, grinder calibration, and the art of tamping. 
  • Espresso Sensory Analysis: Taste and compare different extraction outcomes to develop your palate. 
  • Practical Session: Apply skills in real-time espresso preparation.

Day 2: 

  • Milk Techniques: Learn to steam milk for lattes and other drinks, and practice basic latte art.
  • Espresso -Based Menu Creation: Make and present drinks with consistent taste, texture, and presentation. 
  • Cleaning & Safety: Understand the importance of machine maintenance and workspace hygiene. 
  • Water Quality: Discover how water quality affects espresso brewing and the longevity of equipment. 
  • Customer Service: Practice handling customer interaction and creating a welcoming. café environment. 
  • Final Practical Assessment: Demonstrate your skills by preparing espresso drinks, ensuring quality, and performing the required barista routine. 

Certification:

Upon successfully completing the course, participants will receive a Completion Certificate recognising their skills in espresso preparation, milk texturing, and customer service.
